Some Days I Think I Have Lost It

CapitalistRoader and I were having a conversation about Trump’s motives in running for President. You can click the link to see what he thinks. Here are my ruminations. Very slightly edited.

==

I dunno. Some days I think I have imbibed the Kool Aid.

I think he means it.

And you will recall that I started off thinking he was a clown. Then the owners of the political game attacked him – not the mild attacks you give to a loser. But the heavy attacks you give a potential winner.

They probably figured he correlated the cross tabs. And double checked it themselves. OH. MY. GOD.

And then it was a grudge match. And Trump is notorious in grudge matches. At least by popular understanding. Which may be true.

I think they pissed him off and he got serious.

Or if you saw the Oprah clip from 20 years ago – he planned it all along and that [CapitalistRoader’s comment] was just the cover story to get it started.

OTOH he joined the race in 15 July 2015. In Aug 2015 Colo changed its rules.

I’ve felt this way for the last month or two: We’re going to be saying either President Clinton or President Kasich next year. There are zero other possibilities.

You might want to get your mind around President Trump.

Because he doesn’t play by the rules.

    Your link is titled:

I can remember listening to Ron Radosh on WBAI back in the late 60s, 70s, when he was a communist. Anyway…

I like his historical reporting, Red Star Over Hollywood and so on, don’t know how seriously I can take his predictions.

Kasich is a complete cypher to me, he’s made zero impression on me so far. I know people like Howie Carr think he’s a RINO. What does he have to recommend him? Other than the obvious; he’ll play patty cake with the ruling oligarchs. But how does he get elected? Or even nominated, this will be the smokiest of smoke filled rooms if he does. And hardly anyone smokes anymore, they’ll have to send out for an industrial smoke generator to pull this off.

    Off topic but

Whatever happened to PJ Media? Since Roger Simo seems to haved backed out of daily operations it’s gotten a lot more boring. And Jesusy and conventional conservatoid. And boring. I mean, wtf? guys, I can get that conservative drivel anywhere.

    MMM,

I noticed PJ becoming like that a few years back.

Some time during the Romney run IIRC.

“Kasich is a complete cypher to me, he’s made zero impression on me so far.”

Me too. My impression is that he’s either a Democrat in everything but name or he’s a G.W. Bush clone. But the general election polls show that he’s the only candidate that won’t get stomped by Hillary or Bernie by less than 30 points. Yeah, I know it’s early. And, yeah, I remember the polls were ten pints off for Carter v. Reagan. But not 30 points.

Too many pints leads to misspelling points.

    CapitalistRoader,

So how did Trump get from 10% approval to mid 40s approval?

Looks like a >30 point spread to me.

A recent poll showed Trumps negatives at 52% and Hillary’s at 56%.

That looks like a win for Trump to me. And he hasn’t even seriously started in on Hillary yet.
