Because That Is Where The Gravy Is

Bill Quick had this very cogent comment about the ongoing primary season:

I think that after Trump finishes off Cruz next Tuesday, he’ll actually start to shed some of the delegates he already has. To Trump. Lots of people prefer to be on the winner’s team. Especially in politics, because that’s where the gravy is.

If there is no gravy why stay on the train?

Let me model my tinfoil hat: Donald Trump made a deal with Hillary. I think originally they cooked up a plan to shave off a few points off ¡Jebe!’s general election run by Donald running in the GOP primary, getting a small chunk of the primary votes, doing a third party run (in righteous disgust, of course), and handing the presidency to Hillary. That may still happen. But if Trump wins the nomination a Clinton/Trump race will result in a President Hillary Clinton so the result will be exactly what they planned in the first place. I style my tinfoil hat after this fellow’s.

I wonder what Donald’s payoff will be? Eminent domain demolish a large chunk of private real estate in DC so he can build a massive casino complex? That would be popular with all the rich beltway bureaucrats. They got money to burn.

I dunno. Some days I think I have imbibed the Kool Aid.

    I think he means it.

And you will recall that I started off thinking he was a clown. Then the owners of the political game attacked him – not the mild attacks you give to a loser. But the heavy attacks you give a potential winner.

They probably figured he correlated the cross tabs. Or double checked it themselves. OH. MY. GOD.

And then it was a grudge match. And Trump is notorious in grudge matches. At least by popular understanding. Which may be true.

I think they pissed him off and he got serious.

Or if you saw the Oprah clip from 20 years ago – he planned it all along and that was just the cover story to get it started.

OTOH he joined the race in 15 July 2015. In Aug 2015 Colo changed its rules.
