I was a New Leftist back in the day. I’m about 3 minutes in from the point you suggested. Horowitz is spot on.
Despite my hanging with the Diggers I never had the taste for violence many of my comrades had. What finally cured me was the Vietnamese boat people. I did not become fully libertarian until 1988 when I met Lyn Tinsley who finished my conversion. I believe we first met in Evanston.
Thought you might find Horowitz’ interview interesting. What is really good about Horowitz is that he speaks from authority, been there in the extreme, like you.

Unfortunately I’m skeptical about Dondero’s latest upbeat assessment of Republican chances in upcoming elections. A lot can change beforehand, like Boehner’s underhanded attempt to push through immigration reform. If he succeeds, a large segment of the Republican base will revolt.

I read the Dondero piece from 2011 back then. He confirmed my gut feelings about Ron Paul. No matter what Dondero says trying to whitewash him, the man is a bigot deep down, and especially anti-Jew, to the point of having his aide dress up in Jew-drag to raise money.

I’m not a big fan of David Horowitz, but this interview on his website is extraordinary. If you don’t have the time now, at least scroll down to Part II, and start at 11:00 in for his discussion of Obama and the health care law.
