Love

Nice sermon. I wonder if that church was into persecuting gays and jailing pot smokers? Smiting heroin addicts? Jew hatred in America peaked in 1944. Funny, Jesus was Jewish. Jesus never did care much for hypocrites.

But the essence is right. God Is Love. If only the practice was more universal. Well we are getting there. The various God factions are dying out in the US. One less thing to use as a basis for hate.

The US became the most prosperous, healthiest, least-imperialist superpower due to the kind of people represented in the video above. There’s always been a natural tension between the state, big business, and big religion. That tension kept the US from sliding too far one way or another ideologically. Get rid of religion and you slide into fascism. Get rid of religion and privately held business and you’re living in a communist state.

    CapitalistRoader,

Once you inject religion in the mix it becomes a contest to see whose will prevail. Jews hit hardest – for most of history. Not to mention burning witches. And the European wars of Christian vs Christian.

And the mystery religions based on drug induced visions? Well – look what happened to LSD because of the Christian uproar. They knew a competitor when they saw one.

    Or how about these Christians?

I’m sorry. I took the Red Pill long ago.

I’m all for religion. Every man should silence the inner noises and listen to god. He has a religion tailored to each individual.

But once you go to a priest and are given a book you have been enlisted in a political cause. Islam ring a bell? The rest are the same to varying degrees.

Power and Control is the essence of organized Religion.

Moonies ring a bell? Scientology? The Catholic Church?
