Don’t Use Wajam

There is a new video reader out there called Wajam. Don’t use it. I will have more to report when I have removed the Wajam tool bar that the Fucks installed despite me telling the installer not to.

I can’t figure out how to correct the problem. Plus using the normal Classical Values toolbar is now impossible. I hate those damn SOBs.

P.S. the video reader may not be the same Wajam I linked. In which case, I’d advise trying http://www.malwarebytes.org/

The problem is that they add a toolbar which even after you remove “Wa Jam it to you” does not go away.

It looks like it has also corrupted the System Restore drive (D:).

I can do a full system restore. What a pain.

I’m trying “Registry First Aid” if that doesn’t fix it I’m going to do a full system restore from my back-up.

    Registry First Aid didn’t help.

So I loaded by backup on to the working hard drive and I’m now back in business.

Reminds me of the wonderful world of Bonzi Buddy and other such *MUST HAVE* (mentally picture one of those Monster Truck announcers saying that, complete with reverb) software that kept infecting machines at college a decade ago.

Wasn’t so much that they were malware, but that they were so badly coded that even the smallest things were malicious in an unintended way. Things broke, and they hooked into so much that the uninstall (even if they actually gave you one) either did nothing or broke more than it helped.

As with guns, I’m pro-2A but there’s just some people too stupid to own one. Same thing with software.

Ummm…Excuse me, but I NEVER INSTALLED THIS CRAP! I am NOT ur average dipshit, don’t just install things I don’t know EVERYTHING about onto my computer! Hate Facebook, Google+, all the like, and learned long ago not to use them for this very reason! Now this crap suddenly shows up on my laptop, and my system is a MESS!!! All .msi/install files along with UNINSTALL files are not accessible or seemingly no longer existing – if they are, I cannot find them! I am usually pretty computer savvy, but nothing I’ve tried so far has been able to fix this! I’m seriously PISSED!! I am not in a position to have to lose everything by wiping it all and re-installing Windows. Rolling back and restoring to a date before this was installed did nothing! I can’t even update drivers!!

1st off, Thanks for the answers (that haven’t seened to work yet BUT, Teri….Who the fuck are you to throw names at ppl, You’re going to call someone a dumb ass because they somehow got an UNWANTED “worthless Bullshit” downloaded on their computer? Grow up!! The same shit happened with my Ma’s computer, she is very careful NOT to install anything on her computer (because 1. She isn’t computer savvy, and 2. She is scared to death of viruses,) With that being said~~ I know what you mean when you say it installed regardless of what YOUR choice was. I’m having a hard time getting rid of it for My Ma too, which is how I landed myself here, but name callers are exactly what they call other ppl. You make yourself look ignorant and immature for slandering someone because of some shit that got downloaded on their pc / laptop when they clearly didn’t want it to begin with!! So download and swallow that Mr. Teri aka immature!!! This site is for input and answers to questions, NOT a site for ppl like Teri to call other ppl what he obviously is, and trying to make anyone feel less than (?) Teri is obviously a miserable person and well ya know what they say…”MISERY LOVES COMPANY!!!” I am guessing, this is how he gets his company.

Spybot : found and removed 23 entries of Wajam that I never installed, nor do I go to any place on the net to get them, …seems similar to the Babylon toolbar virus in that you cannot remove the core programs ,even if you can get them to uninstall at all, … Vipre Internet Security 2013, and Vipre Rescue finally removed all of them (including on the registry), …give it a try. Be sure to set the firewall on Vipre to block everything, even low-level threats,…you can add your trusted sites for exceptions later.
