I voted for Ron Paul in the Illinois Primary. Election results are mostly in and it looks like Romney was the big winner at 47% with Santorum at 35%, Paul at 9% and Gingrich at 8%. (note – with counting still going on the numbers may change some.)
Why did I vote for Ron? Well I wanted to send a message. Which is “libertarians are an important part of the electorate”. Don’t forget us.
But just to keep it all legit: Illinois is an open primary state. Who knows what it all really means?

Essentially my same rationale for voting for RP in Georgia… to my surprise, Gary Johnson was still on the ballot here, and I much prefer him, but RP at the time seemed the right choice for our purposes. I really hope the LP has grown up since 1983, my last national involvement, when in convention a good candidate was rejected in large part due to sophomoric schismatism. if not, then GJ may not be their candidate, and I will be yet again disappointed that there will be no articulate libertarian choice, as has so often been the case.
