It is obvious Alcohol Prohibition didn’t work.
It is obvious Drug Prohibition isn’t working.
For the very same reasons. Black Markets are more powerful than governments. Good government avoids creating them.

wrong again! legal drugs kill many times more people then illegal drugs smoking 300,000+ alcohol 150,000+ legal prescription drugs 60,000+ illegal drugs 10,000 see the difference ???
The main problem with illegal drugs is that they create criminal organizations to supply the demand, and the crime cartels subvert the police and courts. Illegal drugs are sold more or less openly (they have to be), and the police and courts know who the dealers are. The police and judges have to be bought off to permit the trade.
Legalization of drugs will undoubtedly make the lives of some, maybe many, people worse. But we need to clean up our government.
Bob,
So far as I have seen legalization does not lead to a permanent uptick in drug use.
Portugal found that without addicts “pushing” younger people were less likely to take up the habit.
You are absolutely correct about the corruption.
Willing buyer – willing seller. Very difficult to police.
@captain – not sure why you are saying “wrong”?
Do you think we should outlaw all the legal drugs and legalize all the illegal ones, or what?
I’d prefer to legalize the whole shebang and let it sort itself out.
kathy I am saying when you are in a hole digging deeper doesn’t help. I do agree people on probation who fail a drug test should not be sent back to prison for a failed drug test.
