Many wealthy donors and foundations that bankroll these operations also have venture capital firms that invest in “green” energy companies which benefit from the laws, policies, regulations and lawsuits – and from government contracts, grants, guaranteed loans, subsidies, feed-in tariffs, and mandates for energy systems, ethanol blends or wind and solar electricity. In turn, US money can end up in the coffers of radical Australian groups that block coal exports to India, thereby keeping its people mired in poverty.
Coal billionaire/climate activist Tom Steyer and other club members invest in for-profit prisons where inmates make ultra-low-cost solar panels.
So the Drug War is being used to provide slave labor for Green projects? What will they think of next? A national debt so great that all of us are slaves?

As you just pointed out, they’ve already thought of that.
Thomas Sowell made the point that there were slaves who were skilled craftsmen, that were free to live and work on their own, as long as they passed a percentage of their income to their owner. Not clear if they also suffered the insult of having it called “voluntary compliance” as well.
Who do we owe the national debt to? And, what happens if we default on it? Libs like to tell me “we owe it to ourselves”. If that’s the case, default and take the haircut. If it’s not “us” but a bunch of shadowy banksters as I suspect, let them take the haircut. What are they going to do about it? As the man said about the Pope, “how many divisions does he have”? Having a massive debt is a good place to force renegotiation on the debt holders, as I suspect Donald Trump knows well.
Two really bad ideas are private, for profit prisons (creates a perverse incentive for making more activities worthy of jail time), and tax farming, essentially for profit tax collecting, if you thought the IRS was corrupt, wait until it’s privatized.
