Smart Phones are coming to the rescue of Blacks.
In The Daily Caller, senior contributor Matt K. Lewis wrote about how the advent of smart phones and instant live streaming has made it impossible to deny that black people are disproportionately subjected to police violence.
“In the era of Facebook Live and smart phones, it’s hard to come to any conclusion other than the fact that police brutality toward African-Americans is a pervasive problem that has been going on for generations,” Lewis wrote. “Seriously, absent video proof, how many innocent African-Americans have been beaten or killed over the last hundred years by the police—with little or no media coverage or scrutiny?”
In his piece, Lewis recognizes that growing up with the white privilege of unquestionably trusting the cops blinds people to the reality of police discrimination and brutality.
“If there’s any good to come from this horrible trend, it may be that the scales are coming off the eyes of a lot of well meaning, if naive, white Americans,” he wrote.
The scales have been off my eyes for quite a long time. But it is good to see that video evidence is changing some other minds.

What nonsense. What would save blackpeople would be not being involved in so much crime. 2013 2500 murders by whites, 2491 by blacks…blacks are 10% of the population…if you narrow it down to who is actually doing the killing, young blacks then the % falls to around 5 – 6%. What is amazing is that blacks are not being killed in even higher numbers given their proclivity for murder.
In my youth, the best clubs were mixed (gay and lesbian) if you wanted to dance. The worst thing you could do after a gay-bashing was to call the police, because the cops would – if they bothered to show up – would be to make matters worse.
JohnPaulJones,
And the criminality CAUSED by a government program (Prohibition) doesn’t count?
It seems like you have learned nothing from Alcohol Prohibition.
Drug prohibition does not excuse the murder rate. Murder rate per 100,000 increased to 10 from 5 per 100,000 during prohibition. The current murder rate for blacks is 31 per 100,000. The current murder rate for whites is 2.6 per 100,000 during the same prohibition. It is an ugly fact but whether or not it suits the prevailing notions unless it is faced nothing can be done.
For certain acting as if this is generally a police problem is absurd. Acting as if it is a police problem and not a culture problem gives a bye to those who murder the police and creates an atmosphere where the police retreat from the streets making the problem even worse. It also forces the police officer to approach every car as if his life depends on it.
Not sure if you have ever felt fear of death but it is a nasty thing.

Neither did Alcohol Prohibition. None the less we ended that Prohibition and the murder rate went down.
Of course we should avoid learning from history.
BTW JPJ was my inspiration to join the US Navy.
And yes. You are correct. It is a culture problem.
“Look, we understood we couldn’t make it illegal to be young or poor or black in the United States, but we could criminalize their common pleasure. We understood that drugs were not the health problem we were making them out to be, but it was such a perfect issue…that we couldn’t resist it.” – John Ehrlichman, White House counsel to President Nixon on the rationale of the War on Drugs.
“Not sure if you have ever felt fear of death but it is a nasty thing.”
Well I once had a M1911 to my temple. Funny enough it did not make me afraid. My fear of death has not even been residual since then.
I consider every moment since then a gift.
I’m prepared to do my innate duty and die once. Living in fear has no appeal to me.
And Jones,
Did the police solve the alcohol addiction problem?
