This is about the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) vote.
Using data from the Federal Election Commission, this chart shows all donations that corporate members of the US Business Coalition for TPP made to US Senate campaigns between January and March 2015, when fast-tracking the TPP was being debated in the Senate:
Out of the total $1,148,971 given, an average of $17,676.48 was donated
to each of the 65 “yea” votes.
The average Republican member received $19,673.28 from corporate TPP supporters.
The average Democrat received $9,689.23 from those same donors. The amounts given rise dramatically when looking at how much each senator running for re-election received.
So how much did Ted Cruz’s vote cost? $250.00 He is a very cheap politician. But he is not stupid.
Ted Cruz’s Leadership PAC, the Jobs, Growth and Freedom Fund has been handing out RINO money since he took office. For this cycle though, despite the fact that he has plenty of money in it, the only money he has been handing out is to… you guessed it – Iowa lawmakers.
Evidently Ted can buy politicians with the best of them. And it was money well spent. He won the Iowa caucus. If you can’t win the voters you can buy the politicians. He also did well in the Colorado caucus.
Is Trump any better? No. He bragged of buying the Clintons.
As my grandpappy always used to say, (in a thick Eastern European accent) “They are all crooks.”
