Ditch and Switch

There are reports that Trump is getting blue collar Democrats to switch parties. The movement is called Ditch and Switch.

Professor of Public Affairs at Franklin and Marshall College, Dr. G. Terry Madonna, tells the paper he has a theory behind the switch.

“With the increase in support in exit polls for Trump among working class, blue-collar Democrats, it is my belief that these are people who fall into that genre,” said Madonna.

The numbers are similar in other states as well.

The paper says in Massachusetts, as many as 20,000 Democrats have gone from blue-to-red this year with Trump cited as a primary reason. And in Ohio, as many as 1,000 blue collar workers have promised to switch parties and vote for Trump.

If he can win the Republican nomination he will win the general election in a landslide

The numbers are not big enough, though perhaps they are a symptom: lazier voters will not ditch & switch, but will just ditch.

simon I do not support the war on drugs but I see the destruction that legal drugs cigarettes alcohol and prescription drugs do and legalizing more will only add to this destruction.

@captain*arizona, So, basically, you DO support the war on drugs?

To the rest: I think ditch and switch applies to both parties. The RNC has made itself quite clear on its opinion of Trump.

    Pass the popcorn, please.

kathy I do not support the war on drugs. I just don’t ignore the destructions as the dopers do.

Ok, Captain, fair enough. But I’ll note that there were far less “destructions” before prohibition.

A lot of the destructions are due to the price, and the need to deal with undesirables for those who feel they need certain drugs.

Trump has been running a cross-party campaign from the very first. He’s creating a new coalition of voters – neither conservative nor liberal, but action-oriented.

I agree – once he gets the GOP nomination, he’ll win in a landslide.
