We will never have peace until republican vietnam war draft dodging chicken hawk neo=con traitors are brought to justice! And democrats like kerry and mrs. clinton will have to answer for their votes.

I hear that war never resolves anything. I’d like a second opinion on that, but I can’t find any Carthaginians to comment on it.

War does not solve problems it just creates new ones World war!!? ask the north koreans or ask the people living in mosul.
Kathy Kinsley
The problem in both those cases, oh captain, was that no one FINISHED the war. See Neil June’s comment above.
That said, I really do wish we could find some better way of solving things than the current methods, which seem to be either kill-them-all or surrender and live in slavery.

Banner over bush said mission accomplished. How would you have gotten back to the chosen resevor then the yalu river then manchuria with three russian tank armies with 4000 tanks sitting beside you across the amur rive? As john mccain said to a vietnam war draft dodging neo-con chicken hawk who said we but not he should have invaded north vietnam. mccain then I would still be over their. were still in afganistan obama did not pull the troops out of their and will turn into iraq as soon as we do.

Zoneturd types with his ass once again:
From wiki:
“Navy Commander and Pentagon spokesman Conrad Chun said the banner referred specifically to the aircraft carrier’s 10-month deployment (which was the longest deployment of a carrier since the Vietnam War) and not the war itself, saying “It truly did signify a mission accomplished for the crew.”
Furthermore, how weak is objecting to a president and policies due to a banner? Got anything a bit more relevant, there, buddy?

If Falkenburg’s Legion fought Dorsai who would win?
How about Motie Warriors vs. Kzinti?

mouton funny bushithead didn’t mention that when he gave his speech to let people know that mission WASN’T accomplished in iraq!

I believe in preemptive isolationism – just nuke the rest of the world until they leave us alone.

Let’s see…
In the aftermath of WWII DEMOCRAT Harry Truman signed a treaty with the French that obligated the US to help defend French colonial interests. After the French had their ass handed to them at Dien Bien Phu we had no choice but to get involved, to the tune of a few hundred “advisors”. DEMOCRAT JFK managed to pump that number up to thousands, and DEMOCRAT Lyndon Johnson took it all the way to 550,000. REPUBLICAN Richard Nixon ended the draft, brought the troops home, and effectively ended direct US participation in the war.
What was that about neocon republican vietnam war draft dodging chicken hawk neo=con traitors?

I’m sorry – but we could have won. If we’d been allowed to. I was anti-war back then, but only because then (as now) we kept fighting in chains.
In ’73 the US had won ‘Nam. A treaty was signed. In ’75 when the North attacked the South the US Democrats declined Material Assistance to the South. Not troops. Just weapons and ammunition.
The communist North only killed 100,000 directly in camps. But 500,000 took to the sea out of fear and 250,000 of them died at sea.
I was a communist sympathizer up to then. I lost my taste for communism (and the left in general) after that.
When I lived in Chicago I had some Vietnamese friends. They always made me feel my failing. Not them personally. It was me. I was responsible for those 350,000.

I thought it was more like 2 million boat people. In any case, communism has been an absolute disaster wherever it’s been tried.

The core of the anti war movement was a KGB operation from the start.
Between the Mitrokhin Archive, the Venona transcripts, Ion Mihai Pacepa and related revelations it’s becoming clear just how thoroughly the US government, press and culture was infiltrated. For one representative example, I.F. Stone was a KGB asset the whole time, from Korea to Vietnam. I’m waiting for the big reveal that Walter Cronkite was an active Communist, not just a useful idiot.
Former anti war activists have nothing to be proud of, you were manipulated tools of an enemy power. (There was a respectable anti war faction on the right; wrong war, wrong place, wrong time, not worth American blood and treasure. Funny how you don’t hear much about it any more…)
In a completely unrelated observation, I’ve been reliving my childhood watching Gerry Anderson shows from the early 60s. I’m continually impressed by the inherent optimism in these visions of the future, it’s bright, technological, cheerful, It’s a kind of place I want to live in. Sure there are dangers, even existential threats, but they can be definitively resolved. What happened to that future?
Of course, if your real goals are mass death, poverty, misery and fear, communism is your ticket, go for it!

Yeah. Me too. And don’t forget John F’n Kerry – obviously a communist.

Pacepa says he heard stories about American atrocities the he had placed in the western press come back from the Winter Soldier Investigation, which was Kerry’s operation.
And personally negotiating with the North Vietnamese, how is that even legal?

1/2 million boat people, no idea how many didn’t make it. And many were the educated middle class, the kind of people any society needs to maintain a technological civilization. And in the nearby vacation paradise of Cambodia you could be killed for wearing glasses or knowing how to read.
The Pol Pot regime was so repulsive the Vietnamese communists ended it.

Another thing about chimpy mchitler halliburton is he volunteered to fly F-102s. Those things are flying bombs, they killed a lot of pilots just in normal operation. If they ever went active it was as a suicide mission against incoming Russian bombers. They were never used in Vietnam, and they wouldn’t have served any purpose.
If you want to single out anyone for avoiding combat, consider that 9 out of 10 soldiers never see combat, they’re all REMFs, also known as quartermaster, signal core, food prep, truck drivers and so on.
By Vietnam it was easy to stay out of
combat if you didn’t want any. Most modern war fighting is done by special forces; people who actively want to fight.

I wonder if the reason the left feels so obligated to making up falsehoods about mcchimpy hitlerburton is that politically he wasn’t all that different from them, yet he must be a hate object, being a republican and a bush and all, so make it up, any means necessary.

MMM,
The wiki says 2 million.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnamese_boat_people
But that is using it as a generic term. More specific is 800,000 by ’95.
In the era I’m talking about ’75 to ’80 500,000 is about right. And about 1/2 of those died at sea.
I’m waiting for the big reveal that Walter Cronkite was an active Communist, not just a useful idiot.
