It looks like the Liberty faction of the Republican Party is gaining ground with the youth.
Amir Zendehnam passionately supports marijuana legalization, same-sex marriage, abortion rights and the Republican Party.
He is not alone. The 26-year-old aspiring restaurateur and chairman of the party’s West Los Angeles central committee, is one of a raft of ethnically diverse young libertarians who hold seats in L.A. County’s huge GOP apparatus, injecting youthful energy into its operations at a time when the state’s Republican Party is nearly moribund.
The hold of social conservatives (right wing statists) on the Republican Party is weakening.
The Liberty Kids are challenging the party’s social conservatives and are drawing the attention of Democrats, who see liberal youth as part of their base. And in what could be a harbinger for the GOP, they have begun campaigning in other states, aiming to increase their influence beyond California.
“I want you to look around the room,” Zendehnam said at a meeting last week, “because this is what the face of the Republican Party is going to look like.”
Maybe we will finally be getting a two party system in America. Wouldn’t it be ironic if the Democrats wooed social conservatives in response?
And look what I found, a TV cartoon show called Liberty’s Kids. Interesting.
And speaking to my point about the current one party system, at a Young Americans for Liberty convention this sentiment was voiced:
Throughout the hourlong discussion that followed, the only things apt to elicit more thunderous applause were mentions of Ron Paul, the word “liberty,” and criticism of the GOP establishment.
The last point proved tricky for the congressmen to navigate when asked whether the party had been improved by the presence of libertarian ideas. Rep. Walter Jones went first with a damning critique: “The Republican party is just as co-opted by money as the Democratic Party,” he said, and the theater exploded with shouts.
I think there is a chance for an American revival. My kids are all libertarian or libertarian leaning.

Too little too late. Majority of republicans are social conservative next are tea baggers then business community least of all social libertarians and moderates. The g.o.p.’s power base is in the south where social conservatives dominate. Latinos are turning the western states including texas democrat so the fight is in the midwest not a hot bed for libertarian republicans.

The Democrat Party, likely as not, is going to end up reduced to its natural consituency–Marin County and the Hamptons and their Thurston Howell-wannabee denizens.
After all, that’s where the cash flow comes from for the Democrat party.

Young immigrants don’t vote, by and large, and they certainly won’t pay the bills on Obama’s post-presidency mansion. No, the bi-coastal bigwigs own the Democrat party lock, stock, and barrel, and they’ll impoverish anyone stupid enough to still vote for their party.
Bonus question: How many blacks are going to rush out and vote for Hillary after Obama kills the under-the-table job market by legalizing all the Mexicans? Vengeance-voting only gets you so far when baby needs a new pair of shoes…

As far as I can tell, blacks have been “rewarded” with ever-higher unemployment, reduced discretionary income, and no prospect of future improvement. And the ones that I know are pissed about it.
