A question to ask your “green” friends:
Because of the solubility of CO2 in water for every ton of CO2 in the atmosphere there are 15 tons of CO2 dissolved in water. One half the CO2 emitted by man winds up in the atmosphere. Where did the CO2 dissolved in water come from to keep the balance?

I don’t understand the question. The CO2 in water comes largely (at a guess, a larger fraction of it is from underwater volcanoes and sea floor vents) as the stuff in the atmosphere.
Don’t tell anybody, but greenhouse growers have been using CO2 generators for years. They say 1500 ppm doubles growth.
Amiable Dorsai,
For every ton of CO2 ADDED to the atmosphere 15 tons needs to be added to the oceans to keep the balance.
1/2 the CO2 created by man winds up in the atmosphere.
That means 7 1/2 times he CO2 created by man must be added to the oceans to keep the balance (minus the 1/2 created by man). Where did the 7X as much CO2 ADDED by man come from?
Something doesn’t add up.
