Money For Nothing – Inside The Fed

Money for Nothing is screening in select theaters or you can buy a DVD.

Reason Magazine did an interview. Video below.

At the Washington Post: Filmmaker bet on financial crisis, used profit to make documentary about Federal Reserve.

And what would a Money for Nothing post be without a little Dire Straits?

And a political parody: Mark Knockoffler sings the ObamaCare blues with his band Dem Strait. Turn the collar up on your iZod and rock out like it’s 1985.

    Loved that song.

    Also “Brothers in Arms”

One of the best anti-war songs ever written.

Not anti-soldier, just anti-war. Like And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda – which I consider the best anti-war song of all time. If you can listen to that one without learning what war really IS (and, if you know Kipling, without thinking of some of his verse), you are officially brain damaged.

Went hunting and was a bit surprised to find the songwriter of that one is still around.

    Kathy,

Men are different. They want to see the elephant. And participate. Most lose that after some experience. But there are about 4% who are to a greater or lesser extent psychopaths. A good commander looks for those and makes them front line soldiers. If they are in sufficient quantity they stiffen the line. The rest are for support and logistics.

Outfits like the Marines like to get a much higher percentage of psychopaths.

BTW the 52,000 shots fired for one kill may be true. But it does not take into account that a lot of shots are fired just to make the other guys keep their heads down.

I’m going to post this over at polywell, but it’s topical here:

The stock market would have been flatlining for the last 5ive years if Bernanke hadn’t been pumping money in. Of course the money pump is only masking the situation and inflaming the crisis.
