The Two Americas Show?

While I haven’t watched his show, I finally managed to watch a YouTube video of Phil Robertson.

He strikes me as a bit of a religious fanatic. Hardly someone I would identify with or follow. But I don’t see how calling him a bigot is going to change his mind about anything.

Then there’s the other member of the dichotomy. Turns out (thanks to commenter Gringo) that his name is Ethan Krupp. Here’s a video of the paid government stooge, promoting Obamacare:

He’s hardly someone I can identify with or follow either. I’ve seen a lot of kids like that, though, and some of them eventually grow out of it. Whether he will or not, who knows? Being slammed as some sort of homo (whether he is or not) will probably only encourage him to solidify his position.

Perhaps they could do a show together. All it would take would be a little marketing and maybe some clever writing. Who knows? People might watch it, and they might be entertained. Crass cultural stereotypes are the backbone of much entertainment.

I still think they represent a pathetic “choice.” If in fact they represent the “two Americas” people say they do, I may be living in the wrong country. The trouble with that is that I have lived all over the country, and most of the people I have known on the right are not like Robertson, and most people I have known on the left are not like Krupp.

Obviously, I’m still not getting it.

I must be a rather polarizing person. Because all I see these days are the two extremes.

What heartens me is that I am running into more and more like me on both conservative and liberal sites.
