The Right Kind Of Socialism

The right isn’t actually against socialism, they are only against the democrats in control of it.

I do believe he or she is correct. 🙁

“the right” means so many different things that the term is fairly meaningless. The left means even more things, but at the same time it is more precise.

…there are some Americans paying just $5,050 to drive around for two years in a vehicle that cost as much as $89,000 to produce.

    […]

Estimates on the cost to build a Volt range from $76,000 to $88,000, according to four industry consultants contacted by Reuters with one concluding: “I don’t see how General Motors will ever get its money back on that vehicle,”

Little wonder independent thinking is hated.

Right? Left? Hard to tell what is different today! Here is what is troubling to me on this Fathers’ Day. A number of elected Washington officials as well as appointees and former powers now in retirement are expounding about Edward Snowden being a traitor and how he should be punished severely but I’m not hearing much outrage at the behaviors of the IRS and the questionable testimony given Congress by bureaucrats and presidential appointees on the IRS and other scandals. Maybe they are trying to use Snowden and the NSA snooping to distract attention from IRS, Benghazi, AP, Fast and Furious, etc.

My view is that the crimes being committed by these people in Washington are more dangerous to Americans than any supposed secrets disclosed by Snowden. (Who would not have been able to guess that NSA was doing what was revealed?).

Congress calls these people up to testify, they lie, then they go home or back to work, and Congress goes back to business as usual.

Jesse Walker has a piece at Reason.com suggesting that we need a Church committee to look at the IRS abuses rather than the current focus on NSA snooping.

It isn’t current or past NSA snooping that is the problem, but the vast data collection apparatus being set up. As Snowden so eloquently said, it is the architecture of oppression and a future police state.

I’m sure statist Republicans would like nothing better than to focus on the IRS or Benghazi since they have been prime movers in destroying the 4th Amendment. Who put the Patriot Act in place, and who is now defending its use? Boehner, Lindsey Graham, McCain, Eric Cantor, and every other useless Republican tool.

The vast data complex nearing completion in Utah is to be a collection center for all our personal and business records. When it’s tied together with our medical records, travel, business, personal contacts, phone, banking, and e-mails, nothing will be left of our personal freedom. It is Orwellian and must be stopped, if not through the democratic process, then through armed revolt.

Yes, Edward Snowden has radicalized me. Fuck this government and the apparatchiks running it. Aux barricades!

Consider that they have enough damaging evidence, either real or fabricated to convict everyone of a criminal offense. You just haven’t been arrested yet, and at their convenience.

Pam Geller at atlasshurgs quotes Ayn Rand:

Civilization is the progress toward a society of privacy. The savage’s whole existence is public, ruled by the laws of his tribe. Civilization is the process of setting man free from men.

Funny thing. The author of that piece was totally taken in by Obama. At first.

I voted Johnson/Gray last election. Couldn’t stomach either candidate.

And he has the most dangerous sin of the left. Envy. In fact envy is more dangerous than the “greed” he decries. When envy was a private sin it mattered little. When it energizes government it is a nation killer.

Although I am no Catholic (Eris forbid ( 😛 )), I must admit that they got their cardinal sins pretty much right. NONE of them was, or ever will be, a private sin. Because all of them encourage the sinner to Do Something (or Nothing, in the case of Sloth) to the detriment of their fellow wo/men.

“The Republican Party is not socialist, M. Simon, it’s fascist.”

    Blind, much?

And you folks must be looking at a different “right” than I am if they look socialist to you. Are you watching the politicians? Why? ALL politicians are statists.

  17. Simon Avatar

Statism is required to make socialism work.

Nixon’s wage and price controls? Bush’s Medicare Part D? Of course they were not real Republicans.

  18. Simon Avatar

As to fascist? Well we do have Prohibition shredding the Bill Of Rights. A regular police state.

And the Republicans are in LOVE with policing vaginas.
