That Is Odd

The above picture was from this Yahoo story of Hillary hospitalized with blood clot.

Notice the odd triangular motif on the right? That is not something you normally see in the context of American icons. The caption for the picture reads: U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton answers questions from the audience at the 2012 Saban Forum on U.S.-Israel relations gala dinner in Washington, in this file photo from November 30.

Why would they choose such a picture to illustrate the blood clot story? Or is my paranoia running away with me again? A common affliction in these times.

That looks like part of the Star of David, which is part of the Israeli flag. I can’t make sense of how that ended up on the American flag, but there are some other images on the flag, so it looks like an outtake of a photoshop. Very disrespectful to all concerned.

    George,

Yes. I knew that. But what is the message? Why that photo?

My take on the photo is that it’s a horrible faux pas. It could almost be a cartoon by one of those far right paleo conservatives, showing the flag of ZOG, zionist occupied government, and how even the Secretary of State must pay homage to this entity.

Even a rabid zionist like me is offended by the boundary violation. America and Israel are separate countries. Their flags should never be combined. The paleos want Israel to stop meddling in America, but I wish America would stop meddling in Israel. Only recently, the American government prevented Israel from dealing with Hamas.

As for why Hillary consented to be photographed in front of that flag, I don’t know. She’s hardly a friend of Israel. Maybe she really did have a concussion.

Better picture here. Nothing strange, really, it’s done all over – melding a pair of flags to say ‘we are friends’.

May not strictly follow US flag policy but I don’t really see anything wrong with it.

    Kathy,

I agree about nothing wrong. I just thought it an odd picture for the blood clot story.
