Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter appear in the YouTube video Breaking The Taboo. Their message: prohibition has not worked and is not working. In my estimation they are positioning the Democrat Party to take advantage of the end of Prohibition.
Where are the Republicans on this issue? MIA. I predict another 1932 in their future.

BUT, they actually got 2 Dem ex-presidents to say “maybe it’s not working” (even if the wife of one explained why:”there’s too much money in it”).
Ok. MIGHT vote dem in the next election. IF and ONLY IF the person involved is for stopping the (non-constitutional) war on drugs.
That’s actually about the only thing that could grab me off the fiscally conservative right.
Because…erm.drugs+taxes – and if you do it right, they’d still be a lot cheaper than street. And perhaps the users might not need to steal, etc. or be unable to find a job because “eek – illegal!”
Don’t do them myself, MJ and I don’t agree with each other. BUT. I’m doing elder care (my insanity, yes…has to do with duty and maybe stupidity). NEITHER of them has an appetite. And they both would be a lot better if they ate more. AND…the only thing that I know of to encourage appetite is ILLEGAL. (And, yes, I’ve asked – and no, I’ve had no suggestions other than a wry grin or two when I made mine.)
And, no, I won’t violate the law. I don’t want swat teams in here shooting us all.
So. They die of starvation (self-induced) or a swat team. Sigh.
