If you go by the numbers it was a very hard choice. But the country as a whole seems to prefer robbery to beatings.

Well of course. But the problems of an election are branding, advertising, and making the sale.
Wouldn’t he Republicans have a better brand if they promised no robbery and no beatings?
In fact that used to be the Republican Party of 1900. Until the Progressives diluted the Brand with their love of Prohibition.
It will be fun to watch Obama hunt down CO stoners with the DEA. They will probably blame Bush.
