This country have gone crazy!

Now here’s a hot new conspiracy theory:

Washington, DC – The Obama agents, through the DHS and other assorted colluders, are plotting a major ‘Reichstag’ event to generate racial riots and produce the justification for martial law, delaying the November 2012 elections, possibly indefinitely, a DHS whistleblower informed the Canada Free Press on Tuesday.

The ‘Reichstag Event’ would take the form of a staged assassination attempt against Barack Obama, “carefully choreographed” and manufactured by Obama operatives. It would subsequently be blamed on “white supremacists” and used to enrage the black community to rioting and looting, the DHS source warned.

The Obama administration would then use the violence and chaos they created as justification for the imposition of martial law in major urban cities in America, the creation of DHS checkpoints, restriction of travel, and the indefinite delay of the November 2012 elections.

The Reichstag event refers to a fire started during Hitler’s rise to power….

Damn! That’s just what Generalissimo Bush was always going to do, but somehow never did!

Yes, I get a little cynical about these things.

I mean, I actually thought this was an Onion spoof:

Silly me

Are they trying to put the Onion out of business? The old media is a spoof of itself.

Does it mean my brain has succumbed to fevered madness if I can totally see some on the Left considering, and even trying, this? Try as I might to cling to rationality, it just seems so… plausible.

    Help me, Eric!!

While it may seem as much of a deranged fantasy to suggest that Obama would suspend the 2012 elections as to have suggested that Dubya would suspend the 2008 elections, there are prominent people among the ?bama supporters who have suggested similar things- in all seriousness.

There was the Democratic Governor who suggested suspending elections. Fortunately, she is not running for re-election. Her constituents did not react well to her suggestion.

In addition, Woody Allen told us “It Would Be Good If Obama Could Be a Dictator for a Few Years.”

Need we mention Tom Freidman’s China worship? I doubt that Tom will be voting for Romney, even though I would bet that Tom’s mega-house would put Romney’s to shame.

I’m with John S., Eric… some of us who have thought themselves to be rational all this time are truly getting worried that if it seems possible to the far left that their hold on the Presidency is vulnerable, that they are capable of such. As much as I disagreed with some of Bush’s stands, I never felt such a threat from his supporters. But the sense I have of our polity today frightens me more than I ever was by, say, the threat of nuclear war (I was born in 1948). I really, really hope I’m wrong about this.

Yeah, I can’t shake the queasy, irrational feeling that there are at least some sparks underneath all the smoke. It really is all about the power for them.

This summer will be very interesting. Watch for the false flags.

Not only does the piece reads like a paranoid conspiracy theory,

but the author is a well known crackpot

Still, I have been worried about the prospects of assassination for years. The martyrdom of Barack Obama would be the worst possible thing that could happen to this country. We all ought to hope and pray that the Secret Service do their job.

But I think paranoid conspiracy-mongering elevates fear over logic.

I think that’s why Obama chose Biden as his VP… best protection against assassination EVER.
