Thugs Are The Most Misunderstood People On Earth

Well what do you know there is a call out for Trayvon Justice – i.e. Al Sharpton for another Black boy shot down in cold blood.

Authorities, however, paint a very different picture of the events which led up to the death of Arnold. In a statement, the Atlanta police department said Hambrick “found himself in the middle of an escalating gun battle between two males in the road.” Police said Hambrick feared for his life and shot Arnold.

Multiple witnesses saw Arnold exchanging gunfire with another man, Anthony Hines, who has since been arrested and charged with felony murder. Under state law, a suspect can be charged with murder for indirectly causing another person’s death.

“The Atlanta police department forwarded the case file to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office for review,” police said in the statement. “Hambrick has not been arrested, a decision made in consultation with the District Attorney.”

So are we to understand that Blacks are now either thugs, thug wannabees, or thug supporters? From comments around the net (except from the sane 10%) that is what I’m seeing. Or at least it is becoming the basis of an unfortunate stereotype.

A lot of “George Martin was a wimp” or “he shoulda just taken the beating”.

Was Trayvon’s death wrongful? Maybe. But I got to tell you that this defense of thug culture will end badly.

There may be some bright spots showing through if this comment is any indication:

Update from my 17 year old daughter, who is black, a social web networker, and belongs to Detroit’s suburban black teen scene: she informs me that “Trayvon” is now a slang word to describe thugs and wannabe thugs. She says that this morning her friends reported about an activity last night at which “there were a lot of Trayvons”. Interesting.

Yes. It is interesting.

Don’t you mean George Zimmerman should have taken the beating?
