ARMZ Buys Wyoming Uranium Mines

That is correct. A Russian company named ARMZ has bought two uranium mines in Wyoming.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has approved the license transfer of two Wyoming mines to a Russian company, despite concerns over national security raised by local and national government officials including senior House Republicans.
From the Telegram:

Two uranium mines in Wyoming are on their way to control by a Russian company now that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has approved transferring the mines’ licenses.
The NRC last week approved the license transfer to a Russian company known as ARMZ which expects to obtain a controlling interest in Canadian-owned Uranium One by year’s end. Uranium One holds the licenses for a proposed uranium mine and an existing uranium mine in northeast Wyoming.

The approval comes despite concerns from local and national lawmakers. Bother groups worry that Wyoming’s uranium could in theory go overseas and serve against U.S. interests.

Clever name ARMZ. Those Russians sure do have a sense of humor. The whole deal kind of makes me think of the scrap iron deal with Japan pre-WW2.
Of course once the war started we sent Japan more scrap iron.

I wonder if we should start collecting scrap uranium. Just in case.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has approved the license transfer of two Wyoming mines to a Russian company, despite concerns over national security…
Why should this surprise you given the many years this country has been engaged in its own suicide?
I doubt if I’ll comment on this again, so this is it, no holds barred.
We long ago gave up protecting this country when we signed on to what is now called globalism. It was sold to us by people like Milton Friedman, and the Chicago School of Economists he represented, as free trade. It was nothing of the kind. Free trade as he defined it meant transferring the wealth of this country to every statist backwater from Iran to Russia to China that could produce the equivalent of slave wages for a corporatist elite that survives without morals, patriotism, or honor. It is an elite that has sucked the life out of this country, and is now defending the remnants with the blood of American troops being killed and crippled in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Free trade assumes freedom. You don’t build up your enemies, or potential enemies, by giving them trade secrets, most favored nation trading status, nuclear material, sharing allies defense capabilities, or helping them send rockets into space. You only do this if you can’t make a distinction between friend or foe, or if you don’t give a shit because you’re making billions of dollars and can rationalize it away by convincing yourself that you are “building prosperity” which will somehow, miraculously lead to freedom.
I never thought the day would come when we would have law school professors making nuclear survival videos & telling us to stock up on food and water. Or that former NASA psychiatrists would be preparing us for Armageddon. Maybe we should just curl up in a fetal position and await the end?
While nuclear weapons are now being discovered in San Diego, and our government is covering its ass by urging duck and cover drills, they are actually willing to sell uranium to Russia? Is our leadership insane?
What needed to be done 10 years ago was outlined in a paid editorial in the NY Times written by Leonard Peikoff called End States Who Sponsor Terrorism.
    http://www.peikoff.com/essays_and_articles/end-states-who-sponsor-terrorism/
He was on the right track in singling out Iran, but was proven wrong by our adventure in Iraq. Peikoff wanted a full assault on Iran with ground troops and occupation in the manner of our handling of Japan after WW2. In retrospect, only the complete obliteration of that country would have sent the Muslim world the proper message.
It is now much too late for anything like that. As one domino after another falls in the middle east, and as other Muslim countries acquire WMDs, we will become intimidated and helpless.
How fitting that we have a Muslim raised President.
