Stephen Green drunkblogged President Obama’s speech last night, so I didn’t have to. Here’s his final conclusion:
I’m disgusted. And I need another drink. If I’m feeling up to it, I’ll post a little Oh I’m So Wise summary later tonight at VodkaPundit.com. Or possibly not. But here’s the short version: Obama will see a brief spike in the polls, but not enough. He delivered a divisive speech to a divided nation — and that’s no way to spur a divided Congress into action.
I don’t know how he could stand watching it. I didn’t, and I couldn’t have. Obama Burnout Syndrome is getting the better of me, and I need to take care of myself.
So, in the interest of my mental health, I avoided watching the latest divisive speech to a divided nation.
I’m glad this is a free country and no one makes me watch the Leader’s speeches. Otherwise my Obama Burnout Syndrome might turn into Obama Derangement Syndrome.

Really, it seems so unfair that I have to be stuck being burned out while others are merely bored!

The President never has been and should not now believe that he is Judge, Jury and Executioner. The population has been in control and hopefully will regain that control.
I’ve said that I’ve been burned out on this and one of the responses I got was, “That’s part of their plan.”
Fill up the “conversation” with so much disinformation that talking about it requires too much time and energy figuring out the deal that people just give up and let them do what they want.
Veeshir, activists like to hear themselves talk. They want normal people to get tired and go away. That is why most people cannot stand politics, and why politics is dominated by activists. And why activists win. It’s also why I blog, because I can’t stand activists and don’t want them to win. Not without at least saying something. (If I can upset just one activist, it’s worth it.)
But I long since gave up on doing anything which would require attending meetings where I have to listen to activists drone on until 2:00 a.m.

Yes, but she campaigned and voted for him as the SWPL candidate. It made her feel so wholesome and pleased with her intellect and post-racist academic self.
She has further to go than we do.
I’m with you on that.
But don’t just do it at the meetings.
Look at Obama last night, saying the exact same things he’s been saying for a couple months now and we’re being told today it was important and historic. The freaking Washington Post had an article (I didn’t read it, just what I could read in the newspaper box on the way to the bus) with the subhed, “Offers specifics”.
Sputter.
How do you respond to that? Why would you even bother to respond to that?
I get burned out every now and then. I avoid the intertubes for a week or two and settle down.
