I used to know Ted Aliotta when I lived in Carbondale, Illinois from 1972 to 1975. Interesting fellow. He had a very unusual beetle he kept wrapped in cotton he would show to special friends.
May I add that there is nothing quite like driving LSD when listening to LSD.

My band in college used to play “For Eddie,” a tune from the next incarnation of AH&J, after the drummer had left. Great song.
And the stone angel hung on the wall up above
Looked out blind all the night long
But when the one-armed man played to an empty saloon
She looked down and smiled as he sang her his song.
I met the one armed player through an old girl friend of mine, Marsha Fript. His name was Eddie Balchowsky. He lost his arm in the Spanish Civil War.
Thanks. I’ll remember.
Here are two more videos on Lakeshore Drive and the song. As I have only used Chicago to get from one place to another , I have not actually been on Lakeshore Drive.
Play this song, then about 20 seconds in, hit play on the video from Waafa Bilal and listen to the audio at the same time.
It’s anti-anti.
Yeah I knew Eddie Balchowsky too. His arm got blown off by a German exploding bullet while he was in the Abraham Lincoln Brigade.
He used to play Bach one-handed on piano up in Wicker Park where he lived.
