In front of a perfectly ordinary looking construction site, I saw a sign which indicates how times have changed since I was a kid:
I don’t approve of trespassing (especially on occupied residential property), but traditionally it has long been considered a misdemeanor, and it was a bit startling to see evidence that it is becoming a felony.
Walk across a construction site, and lose the right to vote, as well as your Second Amendment rights, for the rest of your life?
Who ever said America has gotten soft on crime?

Hopefully reason and common sense are not really dead, just an old tool pushed into the closet – it’s past time to dust it off and polish it up.
In my younger days, I often visited construction sites. It was interesting to observe progress from week to week. I didn’t realize that was a criminal interest.
If you visited the sites with permission, or without stepping on private property, or where no fences or trespassing signs were around, you would be okay.
Given the number of squatters around, people claiming easements at random times or random reasons, the relative ease and popularity of stealing construction goods especially copper, and the relative danger and liability concerns for the construction company… I can’t say I blame them for making this change. A vast portion of trespasses seem to involve things that were traditionally considered felonies but can be very hard to prove.
Google [Florida Trespassing] for the laws in question. Trespassing on a construction site with that particular sign is a third degree felony. Without the sign it’s a misdemeanor.

My favorite indicator was having a gay pride day at Fenway park. Ididn’t worry much though because iwas informed it was …”for the children!”
How sick we’ve become as a nation and as a people. Sadly we will fight like hell to defend our right to be sick, never accepting that freedom is to do what we “ought” to do or it is mere self-destruction.
Can we put some of thsoe signs down on the border?
I figure it’s because of two things; eco-terrorists and people who sue when they fall into that big hole.
