In honor of the 2nd Blogiversary of Classical Values, Karl Rove sent me a copy of Irving Kristol’s NeoConservativism: The Autobiography of an Idea.
Continued funding for the site is now contingent upon certain proofs of allegiance to the neocon cause, and as our actual posts fail to offer such proof, Karl has asked me to post a photo:
I’ve been reading it dutifully between faxes of the latest Republican talking points.

“NeoConservativism: The Autobiography of an Idea?” Is that really the title of the book? Like Kristol thinks he IS the “idea” of neoconservatism, and is writing his/its life story? “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was me?”
The far right have come up with a lot of pretentious rubbish recently, but this threatens to take the cake. Where’s a toilet you can flush a book down when you really need one?
You’ve been out of the loop. The book was published 10 years ago.
And actually I highly recommend the opening autobiographical essay.

On the serious side, I have been in touch with Karl Rove, who told me that the book was sent to you because of concerns about the “Anarchists for Bush” post you wrote. As you know, we are in negotiations right now with Mr. Rove, who previously promised to pay Classical Values “a dollar a hit.” The sticky point is that “hit” was never defined, so the White House lawyers are in a huddle. More I cannot say right now.
