Am I the only one who thinks textbook definitions of marriage and adolescence are wholly unnecessary?
Next we’ll be debating whether health textbooks should define ‘boys’ and ‘girls’ in terms of sex or gender.

That’s already happening. At least at the college level.
Name one fascist country that didn’t have boys and girls.

I have to admit, it’s highly unlikely that many kids reach the age where they’d be reading the definitions without having some idea what the word marriage means.
I can see where a definition might be useful in a college-level anthropology textbook, though. (Do the Nayar have marriage or don’t they, that sort of thing.)
