Announcement.....
I am delighted to announce that with any luck, we will have another co-blogger here at Classical Values, Sarah Hoyt. I'll let Sarah speak for herself, but for now I'll just point out that she is an accomplished, published writer, whose current book is Darkship Thieves. She has graced this blog as a reader and commenter for many years, and I am just tickled pink that she might actually write posts. As to what might be in them, let the mystery unfold, because I have no idea, and I never direct anyone, so I am not about to tell her what to write, when to write, or how often. I just hope she does, and I hope she enjoys it. I am sure the readers will too! posted by Eric on 01.17.10 at 12:05 AM

What an honor. I now have two science fiction author's I can call acquaintances. The other being Tom Ligon. I'll give him a heads up. M. Simon · January 17, 2010 12:53 AM Told you a dog would help attract ladies. :) Alan Kellogg · January 17, 2010 06:06 AM I better not let Coco hear about this. Eric Scheie · January 17, 2010 09:35 AM Simon, why would you brag about having science fiction authors as friends? Most of us don't make much money and a lot of people suspect we're nuts! Hi there, Sarah! You website is certainly prettier than mine. Tom Ligon · January 17, 2010 11:08 AM Eric, M. Simon, Sarah · January 17, 2010 02:27 PM Sarah, Syncronicity. Tom, Any one who can do character development in stories gets my admiration. Rich or poor. The best I can do is technical writing and its variants. M. Simon · January 18, 2010 09:53 AM Welcome, Sarah! Cambias · January 18, 2010 04:38 PM Hi Tom. My website is done by my husband... when he remembers. Hence the really old news. :) As for people bragging about knowing us -- My husband's co-workers think I'm the red woman of Babylon for writing Fantasy and Science Fiction. Honestly. I have NO idea why. They must know a different set of writers than I do. Cloistered nuns have more exciting lives than most of my writing friends. But I always get "So, what wild stuff have you been writing?" at parties, with the waggled eyebrows. It's baffling. Kind of like when very straight-laced writing friend was asked at church party what she wrong. She said "Fantasy." They said "Like Harry Potter?" She said "No, Adult Fantasy." It wasn't till the words were out she realized what she'd said... Sarah · January 19, 2010 01:24 AM Post a comment
