I dunno. If I was to say anything about this I’d have to say that racial harmony in America is farther away than ever. See: The Return of Racial Violence to America and How the Media Ignore It. You will note that in the above video, although the racial aspect was obvious, it was never mentioned.

But we do have some ways to go on all political fronts. Modern Prohibition/the War on Drugs is the most destructive, dysfunctional and immoral policy since slavery & Jim Crow because enforcement is greatly skewed racially. As former DEA Agent Matt Fogg notes in this video starting at about one minute and 30 seconds in.

There are a few things that need to be cleaned up in this country.

Here’s my list of causes for some of the problems in the AA community, not in any particular order:

    1. Race hustlers that instill a defeatist attitude in those that listen to them and perpetuates the false notion that little has changed in the last 50-60 years.
    2. Drug prohibition enforcement that’s been disproportionately enforced against minorities, destroying family and community cohesiveness.
    3. Black women are the most religious demographic group in the country. Their reliance on God to fix their lives blinds them to the steps that need to be taken to address those problems.
    4. Liberal white guilt over past racism that leads to a soft reverse racism from white liberals.
    5. The failure of white Americans, Left and Right, to see how these other factors listed have contributed to the problem.

I would say that out of all these, our drug laws are the biggest contributor to this problem. Too many Americans for too long have failed to see how our drug laws have destroyed our communities and families, especially minority families. Whether they be Left or Right, black or white, there’s been plenty of blame to go around for this. Thankfully more and more people are starting to take notice of just how bad our drug laws truly are.

Profound words, dear sir or mam. It behooves me to reiterate them to Mr. Jefferson Davis. I feel I should make haste by way of healthy steed, as I fear a more modern means by way of the telegraph or postman would appear most flippant.

Such words could not be more relevent in these dark days.

Where is Bull Connor, now that his country needs him the most?

So you approve of mob assaults that are at least in part racially motivated? How retro.

Let us remember that Theophilus Eugene Connor was a life long democrat and a member of the democratic National Committee.

    Well played, Stan.

Randy, I agree with your list. I would also add that the physical destruction of minority communities in the 50s and 60s by means of urban renewal and their displacement into gov’t projects helped destroy the infrastructure of community and concentrate the worst aspects of minority life into an even smaller area.

Me; was that meant to be ironic? Maybe if you aimed Bull Connor at the race hustlers themselves? Given that good ol’ BC and the “Justice Brothas” have the same essential mindset; that treatment of people should depend on the color of their skin. They just differ on which color should have primacy.

Bernie; I wonder why southern racists seem to have such grandiose names. “Friend of God” Eugene… Oh well, the Brits were wont to think that God was an Englishmen. Maybe he really is a racist Southern Gentleman, or at least that he has self-confessed friends that are.

Somehow I doubt the victim of this incident would agree with the author, nor Japanese Americans, nor the civilized Indians whosuffered under Jackson, or the American South under the enlightened occupation of the North.

    Veritas,

Well, violence changes the equation doesn’t it?

And Indians civilized? Probably as civilized as Jackson. But not having developed science or heavy industry they were powerless (relatively) to resist him.

And the Japanese (unfortunate) Americans? They came from a culture of racial superiority. It still is (in milder ways). Too bad the American side had little influence on the land they came from.

And our Southern brothers? The last bastion of Prohibition. Stupid fucks. Another culture that insists on running people’s lives. But that is being chipped away. What will they do when they lose their cherished Prohibition?
