The Forbiddenness Of The Forbidden

Eric just did a post on Too taboo for who? wondering why some things are forbidden.

Funny. Also funny in the same vein is this video by a former European Drug Czar explaining why some drugs are forbidden. OK. I’ll give away the punch line. It is the same reason for the forbiddenness of the things Eric discusses. Religion.

Another good video on the subject – American Drug War: The Last White Hope. The guy who made the movie lost family members to legal drugs. He wanted to know why the Drug War was a failure. The first five minutes sets the premise. But since the movie is two hours long I’ll let Hillary Clinton deliver the punch line. “There is too much money in it.”

    Let’s not forget Orwell’s Commandment 5.

    5. No animal shall drink alcohol.

    Later revised to:

    5. No animal shall drink alcohol to excess.

All things are relative, except those which are not.

Umm, could we kidnap that bloke from the UK and make him the new US drug tsar? Please?
