I just found something interesting. The GOP establishment will likely back Hillary if Trump is the nominee. I thought we had two parties in opposition to each other. To keep politics tolerably honest.
Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski says he is not surprised that establishment GOP donors are sour on Trump.
“The GOP establishment will do anything they can to stop Mr. Trump from being the GOP nominee,” Lewandowski said in a telephone interview Tuesday.
“Mr. Trump is the only one who is not controlled by the special interests. … They want a puppet that they can control, and Donald Trump will never be that person.”
So the oligarchs don’t like Trump. Excellent.
What we have is “one party – two factions”. The better to loot you.
There is some small chance Trump will disturb the looting. With the other candidates there is none. They are all bought and paid for. And the oligarchs (also called crony capitalists) like it that way.

Cruz would slow the looting by far more than Trump. Cruz and Paul were the only candidates to stand up to the Shitty Corn Gas Industry. Even that paragon of righteousness Bernie bent over and grabbed his ankles for those crony capitalists.
As Chief Executive, I am thinking that a Cruz presidency would restore lex supra legis.
This would be a systemic improvement. Rather than expound on the differences between current accounts and capital accounts, restoring faith in the fundamentals of American governance and economics would create conditions that would exist long after the completion of a Cruz presidency.
In my opinion.
.
I’d vote for Cruz. I’d also vote for Trump. So, sue me.
Either would be better than Hillary. Or Bernie.
Cruz is NO Constitutionalist.
Where is his call for a Drug Prohibition Amendment? Or his statement that Federal Prohibition is against the law?
With 58% of Americas favoring an end to pot prohibition the electoral odds favor ending it.
And yet they ALL (excepting Bernie) stick with it.
Clinton explained it. “There is too much money in it.” She left off her interest, “For politicians.”
If Cruz can’t get the obvious right what makes you think he will get the more nuanced cases correct?
@Kathy Kinsley: Agreed. Yesterday Bill called the Obama administration’s tenure
“tragic” or some such so I don’t know how much longer Obama will keep his Lynch mob off of Hillary. Best case scenario is Hillary is indicted and the race comes down to Cruz or Trump vs. commie Bernie.
@Simon: Cruz has flat-out stated that pot legalisation is a states issue and the Feds have no business meddling in their affairs when it comes to pot. Where’s Trump at on states legalising pot? Better or worse than Cruz?
I think Trump is a tabula rasa like Obama was in ’08. Better than commie Bernie or criminal Hillary? For sure. But still a blank slate.
no honor among thieves!
CR,
The eGOP has endorsed Cruz.

If Cruz has “principles” how come he was calling for stricter enforcement of Federal pot laws last year?
