Thalasinos reportedly objected strongly to Farook’s claim that Islam was a peaceful religion. Kuuleme Stephens said she heard Thalasinos complaining that Farook “doesn’t agree that Islam is not a peaceful religion.”
To prove to Nicholas Thalasinos that Islam is a religion of Peace, Farook killed him.
Thalasinos was one of the 14 killed on Wednesday in San Bernadino.

I’m reminded of the time a newspaper was destroyed in Communist Yugoslavia because it contained “false statements about alleged absence of the freedom of the press in Yugoslavia.”
I’d accept “Islam is a religion of peace” as a normative statement, not a descriptive one.
It’s peaceful AFTER everyone has converted, submitted and accepted dhimmitude , or is dead.

And I realize that claiming “islam is a religion of peace” as a normative statement actually mis conjugates the verb “to be”. As far as I can tell, the correct form is some sort of tortured future perfect version of the subjunctive, thus:
“Islam will have been a religion of peace”
This kind of thing worked much better in Latin. Islamo delinda est
