    Except, of course, they do.

    What do you think government schools and family courts are for? To put parents in their place and to interfere with their influence on their children.

    Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

    Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.[1]

    I think you can force your own children into involuntary servitude “clean up your room”. At least up to age 18. Or maybe age 21.
