I have not been following events in Egypt as I perhaps should, but I have been too damn busy.
(Who knows? A military coup there may be an improvement over a “democratically elected” fundamentalist hardliner.)
Still, photos like this intrigue me:
Hope things work out over there, and while I am anything but an Obama supporter, I’m skeptical.

Obama’s foreign policy is inscrutable to me. It’s almost as if he were a foreign agent.
Iran: “We’re going to continue supporting Hezbollah, just so you know.”
Obama: “Okay, but can’t we please have dialogue, so that we can understand your grievances with American imperialism? Pardon me while I go bully the Swiss about their banking laws. Would you like some foreign aid while you’re at it? Advisors to help you with your nuclear weapons program?”
Venezuela: “We’re going to give these F16 jet fighters to Russia and Iran. Thanks for the military aid!”
Obama: “Sure, would you like some more?”
Muslim Brotherhood: “Now that we’ve taken over Egypt, we’re going to suspend our constitution, cancel all further elections, institute Sharia law, declare the Camp David accords null and void, and declare war on Israel.”
Obama: “That’s fine by me! Here, have another three billion dollars military aid.”
Egyptian military: “As the ones who will be doing the dying in the war you want to start with Israel, we object and we’d kind of like you to hit the road, ‘President’ Moursi.”
Obama: “UNACCEPTABLE! THIS IS A MILITARY COUP! WE’RE CUTTING OFF ALL AID!”
It’s like the Klintons sending the Army to Haiti to put Aristide, who was a murderous kleptocrat as well as a close personal friend of fellow murderous kleoptocrat Fidel Castro, back in power after the Haitian military tired of his shenanigans and ousted him, or when the Klintons rented out the US Air Force and US Navy to the Albanian Taliban to give them close air support while they ethnically cleansed the ancient Serbian homeland of Christian folk. We spend unimaginable quantities of blood and treasure to aid people who hate us and work to bring about our destruction, while spitting in the faces of governments and peoples who had long been friends.
