Time waits for no one

What the fucking hell is going on with this stupid country?

I’ve been running a case of the flu so I haven’t felt like blogging, but that does not mean events have stopped. I just went to Drudge earlier and saw these headlines:

WHITE HOUSE THREATENS 'EXECUTIVE ORDERS' ON GUNS...
'The president is going to act'...
BANG BANG: CUOMO TO ANNOUNCE SWEEPING GUN LAWS...
Hysterical governor expects rest of country to follow...
'No One Needs 10 Bullets To Kill A Deer'...
Clinton Turns Tech Speech Into Gun Rant...
Iowa lawmaker calls for confiscation...
CT lawmaker calls for background checks to buy ammo...
Gun sales soar in Atlanta...
'Folks are grabbing just about any they can get hands on'...
Utah town to encourage arming households...
Ted Nugent unloads...
PANIC: One Million AR-15 Magazines on Backorder...
Police: Store clerk's gun beats thief's cattle prod...

What are the gun-grabbing bastards trying to do? Usurp the Constitution and start a revolution?

Can’t they at least wait for me to get over the flu?

I have rarely been so ashamed of this weak, cowardly, and failed country, but words fail me.

Pray for sanity. Pray for our country.

    We are in perilous times.

As noted elsewhere, just talking about this has sent citizens swarming gun stores and stocks of both ammunition and “assault” weapons are near zero. This is not bad news. This is good news. If Obama attempts to use an EO to ban guns it will go to the USSC and will be struck down. Either that or they submit a bill that is a de facto (if not de jure) ban on guns and watch the red state democrat congressmen vote against their own party or torpedo their own careers and support it. Guess which one they’ll choose?

The way sheep will trample each other in order to be first to the slaughterhouse always amazes me. The way the Founders must be spinning in their graves, with some wire and magnets we could probably solve all our energy problems.

The answer to the question we’ve all been asking the last four years is becoming clear. It’s a combination of hubris and desperation.

They know this is the best chance they’ll get so they’re grabbing desperately for everything they can, no matter the odds. It’s hubris to think they can get away with it for any length of time, but after getting away with it for 70 years they’ve lost any sense of reality.

I wonder if they are trying to trigger a response from the pro-gun side. Wouldn’t be the first time, with over 500 dead in Chicago last year and over 300 dead Mexicans due to Fast & Furious. Cheers –

AJ you little twerp, your attempt at sarcasm falls as flat as most of your comments. The only ones talking about killing people are scum leftists like Buzz Bissinger from The Daily Beast:

I don’t care what the justification is that you’re allowed in this country to own a semi-automatic weapon – much less a handgun. But what do you need a semi-automatic weapon for? The only reason I think you’d need it is, Piers, challenge Alex Jones to a boxing match, show up with a semi-automatic that you got legally and pop him.

That comment was followed by Abby Huntsman from HuffPost:

I’d love to see that…in uniform.

Then Piers Morgan chimes in with:

    I’ll borrow my brother’s uniform.”

No frankie, not the only ones. Also Abby Huntsman . . isn’t she Jon Hunstman’s daughter? Youre a smart one

You might want to look at the stats on the poll at the article TheAJ linked. Might cheer you up. (Scroll down to the bottom, vote, and, well – we are NOT in the minority. Even on a site called The Hollywood Gossip.)

AJ, I have a feeling based on past comments you’ve made that you aren’t very old. I’m 67 and lived through the years of the Weather Underground, the SDS, Black Panthers, and the Symbionese Liberation Army. I sat at sit-ins, circle-jerked Marxism and draft evasion with David Harris, and learned the essence of the left when you were probably a baby. It always degenerates to violence. The radical left’s method is to provoke it. Obama, Biden, & Cuomo are purposely fomenting it.

Are you both deaf and blind? Listen to Biden’s tone, watch Cuomo’s body language, as well as his yelling. The emotion is meant to provoke a response. As to Obama proposing an executive order, that was done once before, by another would-be dictator whose goal was to rule until he died in office (which he did) and whose infamous legacy was this:

May he and his kind rot in hell.

67! You don’t say! Another geriatric Liberterian leader of tomorrow!

Thanks for conveniently forgetting to mention that debt rack up that . . . your generation specifically . . . is responsible for. I’m sure you’re making ample use of your SS and Medicare benefits while railing against indolent 25 year-olds (who actually work to pay for your benefits, but its more convenient to call them “takers” I suppose) on blogs.

My generation racked up the debt? How can you ascribe to me something I was against?

Ah. I get it. You are a collectivist. Figures.

LOL! Yes, lets ascribe the Weather Underground to all lefties, but lets just have these poor public finances just hang around there – it was no one’s responsibility, its just there! Or no, its those students and outspoken 25 year olds who are responsible!

And the collectivist? I work for a living, son. I paid 31% of my income in state and federal taxes last year. You’re collecting social security to pay for your smoking habit.

Clearly words speak louder than actions for you, so maybe I should just retire now, live off of food stamps and spout off on collectivists – that’s the classical values!

AJ, you really don’t have a clue. I’m still working and paying 15.3% of my income into Social Security and Medicare. I also pay for private health insurance. In addition I’m paying close to 10% California State Income Tax & 25% Federal Income Tax. I also pay property tax, sales tax, DMV fees on my Jeep & business truck, Federal taxes on my phone service, gasoline taxes, and will now pay 20% or more capital gains tax on my hard earned business assets if and when they are sold.

Retire? You’ve got to be fucking kidding. I will work until I drop. I don’t have children to rely on in my old age. So I should just use up my savings (there’s a joke) and when I get sick take a bag of corn and wander off into the woods to die, all so YOU don’t have to pay into a ponzi scheme set up by the same leftists you so admire?

Who is the hypocrite here, the one who has worked within the system for 50 years but consistently voted to reverse the ever expanding welfare state, or the cry baby who finds himself trapped by the very same leftist ideology he continues to support?
