Speaking of humor, someone just sent me a collection of extreme makeover pictures, and I think they’re downright disrespectful. Not only that, I suspect that there is a distinct possibility that they may have been forged. Not that I’m an expert, you know, but I have seen things like this done before, and their authenticity strikes me as highly questionable!
Well, the blogosphere is a democracy, so YOU BE THE JUDGE!

Under the circumstances, I think I should take this opportunity to apologize in advance. Nothing should be taken the wrong way or blown out of proportion until we have the facts.
UPDATE: Wow, an InstaLanche from Glenn Reynolds! I sure am glad that I apologized in advance, because I now stand accused of employing the standards of CBS!

ONE LAST THING: I recently wrote a couple of posts about the negativity in the blogosphere, and I posted the above pictures while still in a bit of a funk, and not knowing what if anything I could do about it. (Humor seems the only option right now…..) Anyway, Glenn Reynolds is a hell of a good guy, and of all people he does not deserve the kind of ad hominem attacks which seem to be metastasizing in the blogosphere these days. Once more, thanks to him and to you all.

So they must be.
That one of Edwards doesn’t look a bit like the Breck Girl.

Judging from the unsightly goiter protruding over the collar of his powersuit, President Bush must suffer from a terrible iodine deficiency.
Also, someone should tell Ms. Kerry that the wax she’s using to remove her facial whiskers is NOT working for her.
As a final note, it’s a pity that these lovely “forgeries” have come to light only now in the twilight of http://www.amihotornot.com‘s popularity, for that website would have been the perfect venue for these beauties.

Dateline NY: CBS Exposes Manchurian Candidates
Photographs released by CBS today have uncovered a plot by the National Organization for Women to seize control of the executive branch of government. According to CBS spokesman Dan Rather attested to these as being fully vetted and authentic. Said Rather, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. Trust me. These candidates are women. I know women.”
They look even worse than I look! Get rid of them!

You know, Kerry and Bush are frightening, and Edwards is just disturbing. But Dick Cheney doesn’t look any worse than he normally does.
I second Steven’s point. Compared to the others, who look as though some terrible mishap occurred during the segregation of their sex chromosomes, Mr/Ms. Cheney looks almost, well, matronly. Like some stout, prairie farm wife who has let herself go in a few unfortunate places.
I hasten to add that the operative part of the claim is ‘compared to the others.’
I went to a drag party in 1973 and this is exactly how these men looked. I am concerned that the John Edwards picture has been slightly airbrushed. He had a slight facial hair problem at the time.
