The 103rd Carnival of the Vanities!

Pete Holiday has done a great job with the 103rd Carnival of the Vanities. My entry — Life in the Subjunctive Lane — was a tad late and he still managed to sneak it in, so I am grateful.
Here are some highlights:

  • La Shawn Barber is angry that the world slumbered while Islamofascist vermin slaughtered child hostages — with the press deliberately downplaying the entire sickening matter. I agree, and I am sorry to see the U.S. State Department now speaking in terms of “political solutions.”
  • Then there’s Interested Participant on child suicide bombers:

…everyone has to recognize that strapping a child with explosives and sending him into a restaurant in Tel Aviv is not much different than sending a suicide kid into the Mall of America. Personally, I don’t think it’s possible to have too much dialogue on child suicide bombers. I also don’t think that the United States can prevent a child suicide attack forever.

I don’t either — short of taking children away from parents who sympathize with such evil.

  • PC Watch shows how today’s unpardonable heresy can be tomorrow’s wisdom.
  • Idler Yet has more about the “timing” of the capture of bin Laden — speculating about the best time to capture him. (Of course, a successful capture will be said to be political, while continued failure will cause the same people to excoriate Bush for that too. Either way: Bush bad, Kerry good!)
  • And Pete himself has posted an interesting mathematical formula which some would call an endorsement of lesbianism, others would label “heterosexist” — and which still more would consider just plain “sexist.” It wouldn’t be fair or balanced of me to comment at all.
  • Read ’em all!
