The Joint Chiefs of Staff do not accept the authority of the President as Commander in Chief, and they will not pull out of Syria, or Iraq, or Afghanistan, or Somalia (27 years, and counting)… The Joint Chiefs are shuffling troops around to save appearances, but they will not obey Trump or any other President.
We have a Praetorian Guard in place, and have had for some time. At some point they will openly choose Presidents.
Or, we have a President who has clearly said he will keep our intentions quiet until implemented.
