The Latest FAKE

Watching all the news of the gas attack in Syria, I was especially impressed by the guy hosing off the “Sarin gas” from a body while at the same time others (unprotected) were carrying the body away.

They have been playing that clip every time they talk about the gas attacks.

That is the first obvious tell of FAKE.

You can see it at about 17 seconds into this video.

(About 1 1/2 minutes)

The video is from CNN.

My take so far:

It is pretty clear that it has been quasi-secret American policy to support the “rebels” while decrying them. The Saudis are our best buds – you will recall.

So far I am not seeing any reversal of that policy. Objectively we are backing ISIS with this move (bombing Assad’s airfield) while pretending to be against them.

Former CIA Officer: “The Intelligence Confirms The Russian Account On Syria”

Though Bannon and Kushner are often presented as rivals, the source said, they shared the belief that Trump should tell the truth about Syria, revealing the Obama administration’s CIA analysis that a fatal sarin gas attack in 2013 was a “false-flag” operation intended to sucker President Obama into fully joining the Syrian war on the side of the rebels — and the intelligence analysts’ similar beliefs about Tuesday’s incident.

Instead, Trump went along with the idea of embracing the initial rush to judgment blaming Assad for the Idlib poison-gas event. The source added that Trump saw Thursday night’s missile assault as a way to change the conversation in Washington, where his administration has been under fierce attack from Democrats claiming that his election resulted from a Russian covert operation.

The only problem with this report is that the person giving it is anonymous. So it could be total fiction. Or it could be real.

Here is some more:

In both cases – 2013 and 2017 – there were strong reasons to doubt Assad’s responsibility. In 2013, he had just invited United Nations inspectors into Syria to investigate cases of alleged rebel use of chemical weapons and thus it made no sense that he would launch a sarin attack in the Damascus suburbs, guaranteeing that the U.N. inspectors would be diverted to that case.

Similarly, now, Assad’s military has gained a decisive advantage over the rebels and he had just scored a major diplomatic victory with the Trump administration’s announcement that the U.S. was no longer seeking “regime change” in Syria. The savvy Assad would know that a chemical weapon attack now would likely result in U.S. retaliation and jeopardize the gains that his military has achieved with Russian and Iranian help.

What Is Going On In Syria?

Russia has claimed that Assad’s air force attempted to bomb a “rebel” (al Qaeda? Al Nusra? Isis?) ammunition depot that apparently contained supplies of Sarin nerve gas. Neither the US government or the American media has presented any arguments to counter that hypothesis. The New York Times banged the war drum as loudly as possible in the days after the incident. And now, of course, Trump Central has fired $60 million worth of cruise missiles at Assad’s main air force base. Assad’s spokesmen denied responsibility for the attack and the Russians are still asking for conclusive evidence via the UN Security Council.

The current incident appears to be — or was engineered to be — a replay of the August 2013 gas incident that left President Barack Obama looking weak and indecisive for not carrying out retaliation against Assad “crossing a line in the sand” against human decency.

And so you have Mr. Trump, who may feel now that he cannot afford to appear weak and indecisive — above all other considerations, including the truth about what really happened at Khan Sheikhoun, Idlib province of Syria. So he bombed an airport, after warning the Russians to remove their personnel from the vicinity. In the event that the world ever does learn what actually occurred at Khan Sheikhoun, and the truth turns out differently than the current narrative, Mr. Trump can say, “We only bombed some Syrian air force infrastructure… no biggie… no women and children harmed.”

From 29 January 2013 U.S. ‘backed plan to launch chemical weapon attack on Syria and blame it on Assad’s regime’

Leaked emails have allegedly proved that the White House gave the green light to a chemical weapons attack in Syria that could be blamed on Assad’s regime and in turn, spur international military action in the devastated country.

A report released on Monday contains an email exchange between two senior officials at British-based contractor Britam Defence where a scheme ‘approved by Washington’ is outlined explaining that Qatar would fund rebel forces in Syria to use chemical weapons.

Barack Obama made it clear to Syrian president Bashar al-Assad last month that the U.S. would not tolerate Syria using chemical weapons against its own people.

Video Shows White Helmets Staging Fake Rescue In Syria – published 27 Nov 2016

(About 1 1/2 minutes)

Video of the controversial aid group Syrian Civil Defense, also known as the “White Helmets,” has leaked showing the staging of a fake rescue. The video shows White Helmet workers and a trapped “victim” getting into position and preparing for a scene, laying completely still as the camera move around them.

Then the action kicks into gear with a flurry of activity and shouting off-camera with the “victim” suddenly screaming in agony as White Helmet workers/actors remove debris from his body and carry him away.

These people excel at producing fake pictures[1]. Which doesn’t necessarily mean there wasn’t a gas attack. otoh Trump and company are claiming they have incontrovertible evidence Assad did it. On the third hand his Trumpness mostly seems to have acted due to the heart rending pictures, boo hoo hoo, dead babbies, so sad. So, was Trump effectively Trolled? Or is it a calculated move to show the world he has the biggest balls in town. Effed if I know.

In any case, dead is dead. What’s so special about gas? Kill the same people with artillery and it’s AOK fine? How about saturation bombing? Napalm? Fuel-air explosion? 10,000 rattlesnake airdrop? Roving electrocution robots? Where and how do you draw a line? Can we conduct an empirical experiment to determine the exact location? Gather representative demographic groups of people, herded into identical enclosures and be shot, gassed and/or bombed as needed.

Meanwhile, back at the Reality Ranch absolutely horrible, heart rending, blah blah blah shit is happening all over the world all the time. I’ve really stopped giving a good goddam how these ragheads kill each other. As long as they don’t try their shit here let them rot. Bomb them back to the stone age if they do, but otherwise stay out.

I’m kinda with ManMountain on this one.

And, no – I don’t think the pics are fake. The “reason” for the pics may well be.

    Kathy,

Remember the babies ripped out of incubators in Kuwait? The pictures were real.

    The event never happened.

And then there were the pictures from Lebanon 2006. The pictures were real. The events depicted never happened.

    ======

Was this event real? Too soon to tell.

Where is Assad? If there’s something fake about this, fake casualties, maybe even a completely fake false flag operation, you’d expect him to be shouting about it.

The government claims they tracked the Syrian plane that conducted the mission. Pretty dispositive if it’s not entirely bogus. Which doesn’t mean that some party or parties did not jazz up the casualty pictures with some extra “victims”. Arab propaganda machines are well versed in providing extra child victims, grieving mothers, forlorn stranded child’s toys, etc. Sometimes the extraneous victims might even have been killed in the original action. Otherwise it’s more of the usual U.S. bombed a wedding party at a baby milk factory bullcrap.

Anyway, how do we get out of these endless wars?

Is there such a thing as non fake news? How could you tell?

    MMM,

I do believe the Syrian planes were bombing.

The question is – were they conventional bombs (the “Sarin” was on the ground) or were they chemical bombs?

We bombed Assad which helps ISIS, we also bomb ISIS in Iraq. This sounds like a plot for a Retief story, only stupider.

Drudge is linking an AP report that senior US officials now claim the Russians had prior knowledge of the gas attack. It’s AP, so who knows? AP is about as credible as MSNBC.

Somebody really wants a war with Russia.

Are you sure those people in the picture are actually dead? Plenty of times the putative corpse has gone home after the photo shoot.

What kind of policy would work for Syria? For some definition of “work”. It’s going to suck no matter what happens. It might be too late, but, how about a hands off policy? Now that the Russians are so heavily involved let them have it. Let them own it, whatever happens. Either it will be their next Afghanistan, or they wind up owning a pipsqueek Arab country with no oil. I’m sure they will handle the military situation with their usual brutality. So bleeding what? It’s what the Iman ordered for the middle east. Ruthless violence is the only language they understand, and the the Russians know how to dish it out. Whatever, we’re out. With one warning: It all stays within Syria.
