Going The Way Of Little Green Footballs

A commenter at Zero Hedge said:

For fuck sake, can anyone on this alleged financial website even read a balance sheet anymore? This is going the way of Little Green Footballs a decade ago.

I used to be a top commenter at LGF. Got front paged frequently. And then….

Zero Hedge used to be loaded with people versed in Milton Friedman. Austrian school economics. Hayek. And now? It seems full of socialists. As if more government was going to fix the problems caused by more government.

I miss the old LGF. I irregularly drop in to check it out – hoping for sanity, I guess – and cringe.

Heh – I followed the Zero Hedge link. Seems they aren’t as enthusiastically banning old friends as LGF did once Charles decided he really hated anyone who didn’t worship him. LOTS of argument.

I remember LGF’s meltdown. I can’t listen to the guitar solo on School Days anymore.

Let’s see… Trickle down economics; USA circa 1980s. Socialism; Venezuela; present time.

    captain,

Supply side economics works quite well for electronics. Build it and they will come.

The problem we have is cronies. We have always had that problem. No system is immune. The best you can do is limit it some by severely limiting government power.

The INs will always fight the OUTs with whatever tool they have. Best to give them the fewest possible tools.

we tried that already with the robber barrons in the late 1800’s even with limited government back then the robber barons still had to send in the troops to crush the workers and the poor giving us communism and anarchism. and this would happen again if we let unrestrained capitalism run wild.

    Captain,

Uh. “Send in the troops” is a government function. That means that in the 1800s government was too strong.

We had too much government in the 1800s.

The answer is not making the government stronger.

Mineral oil entirely replaced whale oil in oil lamps. John D. Rockefeller saved the whales!

And 100 years later unions are some of the most corrupt organizations on Earth.

molehill why didn’t the poor black people new orleans when karina was coming. why didn’t they hop into their sub’s and head for their second homes like the white people did? and you always wonder why conservatives are taken out and shot when the poor have had enough. simon troops were mostly state militia but sometimes federal. also company private armys like the ones using attack dogs on indian children protesting the pipeline in north dakota. and here again republican governor sends in the national guard when the people have had enough of attack dogs being sicked on indian children. a good book on this subject is “the social history of the machine gun.” it talks about the real mother jones that the magazine was named after.

Uh. Too much government can include States. Or were you unaware of that?
