Spengler makes a comment to a post supporting Trump. He was responding to a comment about Jody’s article “A Catholic’s Case for Same-Sex Marriage”.
I wrote a response to Jody’s same-sex marriage article, which which I disagreed, and observed that one learns more from Jody’s errors than from most writers’ correct points.
I responded:
What we are seeing with same sex marriage is the revenge of the oppressed. A commitment to liberty will reduce future such occurrences.
On top of that Christians have become lazy. Instead of changing hearts and minds they passed laws. They now have a population that does not support the laws it passed.
Christianity needs to remember its roots. How did it go from a minor oppressed sect to the religion of the Roman Empire? It needs to go back to its first century roots.
And finally – prohibition is, in America, a Christian disease. It creates enemies. The Frankfort school got the message and enlisted the enemies of the State. The cure? The State should stop making enemies gratuitously. It is unprofitable in the long run.

By actively proselytizing at all levels of Roman society. There’s a 2nd century text from an upper-class Roman complaining about Christians, how if he turns them away from his front door they go to the back and convert his slaves and women. In the same period the various mystery religions were only open to the elite, the temples of the gods were not open to the public, and religions like Mithraism were only open to free men. And by having very sophisticated marketing. All religions offer some sort of benefit to believers, Christianity offers the ultimate – infinite reward or punishment. It’s all after you die, of course, but believe us, look at this cool relic, meanwhile shut up and don’t complain. It’s infinite jam tomorrow. Any day now. And the Frankfort school has done the same. With some effort we can see that the Marxists do not prevail.
