Just gag. I really hate hate hate novelty songs and this was one of the worst. Up there with oooga chukka, Disco Duck and Convoy.
I preferred Mrs. Miller to Tiny Tim. At the same time that Tiny Tim was popular, Mrs. Miller recorded shrill, off-key renditions of popular songs including ‘Downtown’ and ‘Moon River.’ Her records sold in huge numbers, and she performed frequently on late-night TV shows to wildly enthusiastic audiences.

I’ll bite.
I had high hopes for W the first few months. When he said Islam was a religion of peace I hoped he was making a normative statement, as in Islam will be peaceful, one way or another, after I get done with it. But noooo. He really is mushy-minded and credulous, and it shows. The initial invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq were excellent, the aftermaths were and are a disaster.
The attempt to foster a democratic government in Afghanistan was hopeless from the start. These people are barbarians, they have no concept of civil government. It takes an iron-fisted dictatorship to keep a lid on the barbarism and violence. For example the way it took Tito to keep a lid on the Balkans.
Better to pick a likely strong man and place him in charge. Make sure he understands just how grateful he needs to be to the US or… Repeat as needed.
In Iraq, we should have dropped a grenade in that spider hole Saddam was hiding in and left. Iraq most likely would have disintegrated into a Kurdistan, Shiastan and Sunnistan. Probably much more desirable than the present situation.
I doubt no amount of effort from the West could ever convert Muslims from
head-chopping barbarian scum, the trick is to make sure they confine their head chopping to their own back yards.
