It’s okay Eric, I think I know how you feel. Watching the contemporary political scene these past few decades is like watching a hamster on it’s exercise wheel, the hamster never gets anywhere (or so it seems). The Left and the Right are filled with reactionaries and both sides seem to talk past one another on issue after issue. Neither side has a coherent political philosophy anymore, just populist platitudes that often contradict one another. The only thing sure in the Left/Right political dichotomy of today is that if the other guy is for it, I’m against it and vice versa.
