Taxes Are Going Up

Ah yes. The gubbermint needs moar money.

You remember Obama telling you that your tax bill would shoot up by over $275 a year under his plan, don’t you? No? You remember the exact opposite – passionate, repeated vows that taxes on the Sainted Middle Class wouldn’t be raised by a dime? Call it Obama’s Third Big Lie, after “if you like your plan, you can keep your plan” and “if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.”

Well promises are made to be broken. Here is just part of the con.

The new taxes and fees include a 2 percent levy on every health plan, which is expected to net about $8?billion for the government in 2014 and increase to $14.3 billion in 2018.

There’s also a $2 fee per policy that goes into a new medical-research trust fund called the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute.

Insurers pay a 3.5 percent user fee to sell medical plans on the HealthCare.gov Web site.

It gets better.

But wait, there’s more!

Americans also will pay hidden taxes, such as the 2.3 percent medical-device tax that will inflate the cost of items such as pacemakers, stents and prosthetic limbs.

Those with high out-of-pocket medical expenses also will get smaller income-tax deductions.

Americans are currently allowed to deduct expenses that exceed 7.5 percent of their annual income. The threshold jumps to 10 percent under ObamaCare, costing taxpayers about $15 billion over 10 years.

Here is the essential truth about government:

Every fountain of government benefits is also a siphon into taxpayer wallets. In 2014, the ObamaCare siphon will begin rumbling to life. In the years to follow, you’ll be amazed at how hard it can suck.

I don’t understand why people vote for this stuff. The alternative is the Republicans? Nevermind.

There is a Republican I could vote for though. In fact I did vote for her: Sarah Palin on ObamaCare’s broken promises.

“Read my lips: no new taxes”

That was a Republican. I think Sarah’s more libertarian – and has proved it (FISCALLY). And, I’ll admit that most of her choices have been advertised as ‘try this’ rather than -‘execute those who won’t’. But – she appeals to those who believe that Darwin is EVIL and women MUST have children – even if they are already dead. (Sorry, early years…not long after Roe vs Wade…friend of mine had a – much wanted – baby that died – inside – and was rotting. She had to have an abortion, it wouldn’t miscarry – and she was poor. Had to run the gauntlet of “WHY ARE YOU KILLING YOUR CHILD?” outside the clinic – she kept explaining, they kept yelling —sick.

I like most of what Sarah has to say, but I DO NOT trust those she attracts.

    Kathy,

You are very correct about socons which is why I don’t trust Rand Paul much. They may make the right noises and have the right focus during elections but once they get elected their social issues go to the top of the list.
