However, if PTSD runs in the family (it runs in mine) any kind of corporal punishment for your children is out of the question. There are other ways of providing guidance.

The worst thing you can do is lose your temper. For when you lose your temper you stop correcting and start abusing.
Go for a walk, talk about things, and learn just how silly the whole thing is.
