Jay Leno said something reassuring about President Obama. At least he is listening:
Well, this has become a huge controversy after it was revealed that the National Security Agency seized millions of Verizon phone records, and of course this has caused a panic among civil libertarians, constitutional scholars and cheating husbands everywhere. Oh my God.
How ironic is that? We wanted a president that listens to all Americans – now we have one. Yeah.
I for one am glad he’s listening. Because I have a question for him. Actually, it’s not my question, because Thomas Sowell asked it.
It’s a good question (even though I think I know the answer….)

Now Eric, don’t be rashly judgmental. The man is under great stress as his golfing and his family’s vacations clearly attest. He is surely deserving of far more than his current salary and the decades of pension, office and staff budgets, benefits and perks he and his family will yet receive.
Ecclesiastes 10:20 : Curse not the King, not even in a whisper, not even in a thought; and curse not the rich (of his court), not even in the privacy of your bedchamber: for a bird of the air will carry your voice, and that which has wings will tell the matter.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done : and there is no new thing under the sun.
And to misquote Jesus, “The tyrants you shall always have with you.”
And there is nothing new under the sun. Ecclesiastes the depressive was only too right.
Oh – and the answer is (though you won’t find many who will admit they agree) zero. Unless you benefit from their work. Directly.
That caveat at the bottom is why I’m a ‘small l’ libertarian.
