Freedom is freedom, and freedoms are interrelated. That’s the message of this ad.
The Seattle poster has caused a lot of trouble on the left, which cannot stand freedom unless they can dispense it in such a way as to make people beholden to them. What they hate most of all is independent, free citizens of any sort, and the idea of comparing gay rights to gun rights is anathema.
The left is trying to paint the campaign as some sort of right wing attempt to “recruit” gays.
It’s clearly inconceivable that anybody could actually hold in his or her mind, simultaneously, a regard for the right of people to love who they want and respect for the right of self-defense, so it must be some horrible, trollish plot. At least, that’s what The Stranger‘s Cienna Madrid suspects.

I’ll say. Not only do they want gun control, they want gay control.
All gays belong on the left, and in particular they must toe the party line on gun control, or else!
(A theme I’ve written about for over ten years now…. It’s amazing how little attitudes on the left have changed.)

Gays and women, as well as people of color in high-crime neighborhoods and the poor, are the most vulnerable to violent crime. The Left’s desire to disarm them is homophobic, sexist, racist and socioeconomically elitist to the core.
Statist “progressives” want everybody to be dependent on their protection.
