For a variety of reasons, this report that “God Hates Fags”/Westboro Baptist Church founder Fred Phelps may be gay is deeply troubling.
A former member of the Westboro Baptist Church who recently published a book about leaving the hate-mongering group has also revealed that founder Fred Phelps’s anti-gay ideology may have spawned from a gay experience.
Lauren Drain, 27, was a member of the Topeka, Kan., congregation until she challenged the group’s beliefs and had to leave. She sat down this week with the Advocate to discuss her book and her journey from follower to free.
The group’s “beliefs”? Among other things, they believe every crackpot murderer — most recently including the Sandy Hook school shooter — is an agent of God punishing America for homosexuality. It would be tempting to dismiss them as mere nutjobs, but I have long believed they are agents provocateur, and of course many have noted Phelps’ longtime Democratic background.
But the idea that Phelps may be gay? If he is, God help him.
I mean, I know people have all kinds of twisted fantasies, but seriously, is there any gay man on earth who would be interested in having sex with this?
Some things are too kinky to be imagined.
Perhaps gays who are adjudged by God as too evil to enter heaven will be forced to have sex with Fred Phelps in hell.

You can’t hate someone THAT much unless you see, and hate, it in yourself.
That said, Eric, I might note that any heterosexual female that wants sex with that would also be too kinky to be imagined…

Yanno, one thing I can say for Phelps, he certainly brings the left and right together in disgust for him and his tactics.
