Murderous bigotry? Or multicultural diversity?

Sexism in this country can take many forms. One famous example is when a young female college student invites a professor over for a candlelight dinner and then complains (over 20 years later) that he touched her on the thigh.

OK, so maybe the professor was unwise to accept the invitation.

But to give some perspective, sexism in certain other countries is when an accused “adulteress” is buried up to her shoulders, and then slowly stoned to death.

Am I a bigot for being against the above? Or should I consider it some sort of “multiculturalism” and learn to be more tolerant?

I saw that on Facebook. I guess the bastards think that it’s part of what they call “justice” to have a doctor check (in frame 7) to see whether the victim is yet dead, so the mob can go on stoning.

Kind of reminds me of another contrast in cultural values. In this country, there is anti-gay bigotry, which can take various forms. Some call for a federal ban on gay marriage, while others still manage to utter arguments in favor of sodomy laws. No matter how irritated I might get at these people, they simply cannot be compared with the anti-gay bigots in other countries who actually execute homosexuals.

Am I also a bigot for being against the above? Or should I consider it some sort of “multiculturalism” and learn to be more tolerant?

I’ll never figure it out.

Seeing those boys about to be killed breaks my heart.

I bet that like “adulteresses,” they were raped before their executions.

According to the medieval mindset, that ensures their “guilt.”

I think we should learn to mutually respect cultures, and the old line about the English officer and suttee is apt.

Anyway, mild snark aside, agreed with the above. I’m not a bigot for holding barbarians in contempt.

The old line about the English officer and suttee is exceptionally apt. And should be applied MUCH more often.

What Russ said above with a caveat. NO ONE is a bigot for holding barbaric practices in contempt. (Because not all barbarians approve of said practices. Hate to tell you this, but by our standards, Jesus was a bit barbaric.)

A bit barbaric by our standards, but he lived in a barbaric world, and even so he enjoined the barbarians from a stoning, saying, “let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

No wonder the bastards hate Jesus.

The worst part, for me, is the way we’re not making sure that Iraq and Afghanistan do not do that stuff anymore.

Back in the 40s and 50s, we understood that some cultures suck so humoring them was counter-productive.
When we wrote Japan’s and Germany’s Constitutions, we ignored their murderous cultures.

In Iraq and Afghanistan it’s a death penalty offense to convert from Islam.

    WTFF?

Veeshir, would you mind running for Pres.? You’ve got at least one voter…

Seriously, in all we’ve done since 9/11, your second and third sentence, applied, could have saved the day (IMO).

WHY didn’t we write Iraq’s and Afghanistan’s Constitutions?

We’ve turned into a nation of whimps? Or PC advocates? Excuse me? WHERE does ANY sort of political correctness in our culture condone stoning women to death or hanging homosexuals? Explain please?

It’s ok if they do it because they are barbarians? In which case, I suggest we smash them to a bloody pulp before they do to us what earlier barbarians did to Rome.

It’s sort of amusing how tolerant lefties of today so resemble the people they would call intolerant haters.

They just don’t think the wogs can really be held accountable.

Pretty soon they’ll be talking about the White Man’s Burden.
